Victoria Park–Beckenham Level Crossing Removal
Project Overview
As part of WA’s METRONET transformation, the removal of multiple level crossings between Victoria Park and Beckenham is one of Perth’s largest rail-infrastructure upgrades. The project required major structural, SMP, and civil-works support to enable elevated rail construction, bridge installation, and safe separation of road and rail environments.

Level Steel’s Scope of Work
From March to December 2024, Level Steel supported the delivery of structural and SMP works across multiple work fronts. Our contribution included:
- Fabrication of structural steel components supporting elevated rail structures
- SMP support works for bridge and retaining-wall systems
- Temporary works fabrication enabling construction access and staging
- On-site support for erection, fitting, and adjustments during installation
Technical & Quality Deliverables
- Compliance with AS/NZS 1554.1 and METRONET engineering specifications
- Full QA documentation, traceability, and inspection records
- ITP compliance across welding, fabrication, and finishing processes
Project Outcome
Level Steel’s structural and SMP works provided essential support for one of Perth’s largest urban rail-infrastructure upgrades, ensuring safe construction sequencing and reliable integration within a high-traffic metropolitan environment.
